-->You can also use Gmail account. With Gmail account, if you login using Gmail account what happens is you can have lot of options coming up. You can draw your route map ok. You can insert picture on route map. You can describe online your route. So these are the utilities. But today we will draw something simple. We will create a simple route map ok. And then we are going to import it to PowerPoint. So is that clear? We are going to import it to PowerPoint and then you are going to save it. O.K and for that first let us come back to our lesson objectives for what we will learn today. Today we will learn (T opens PowerPoint-shows lesson objectives)

So we are doing multitasking and then what you are going to do is after getting the route we are going to copy that route and paste it in PowerPoint.Ok? And then in PowerPoint you will also learn today how to use a crop tool. That means we will cut off unwanted areas from the map. Is that clear everybody. And then finally we will add descriptive text and images.

So to get the directions you can use Internet Google map.Ok so we are going to use this right now. Is that clear? Now start off with I will show you the demonstration how I got this route map. Now you have to be very careful and see how I am doing it because if you don’t see me you won’t get what to do. Ok? Because you have to follow me. Is that clear everybody?

Yes? So start off with (teacher opening PowerPoint). What you need is first I want everybody to open PowerPoint. Don’t open it right now. Wait. First I just demonstrate and then later on you can do it ok? So first what I will do is open PowerPoint. So open Microsoft PowerPoint. Make sure we have a good layout. So which layout can we choose? We can choose this layout (shows one layout). Ya what’s the name of the layout? Title and text. Use this layout ok? Now after this what will do is you will minimize this ok. Can you see the minus sign? Minimize and open which…open what?

--> Very good. Crop up the map. Very good. So which is the crop tool? Can you see the crop tool on the top?Yes where is the crop tool?. Here (T pointing). Now if you cannot see the crop tool what you do is go to view-toolbars and then what you will do? Make sure your picture tool is active (T – showing). Is that clear? If its not checked, you won’t get the crop tool. Is that clear everybody?

-->Now lets go and check the picture tool bar. Now here is the picture tool bar. Now here is your picture. Click on the picture. Make sure you click on the picture so that picture toolbar is active. Click on the crop and then what you do? Can you see those handles at the border?

-->Now you try and bring it closer ok? Bring it closer. We don’t want the top part right? We don’t want that part. So what do we do?

-->So just bring it closer. So you see I cropped it. I cropped my image. Now whatever details I need is there. Is that clear. So click on it. (A window pops up. Teacher close it.). So click outside. Its done and Then make your image bigger. Is that clear?. Now you can see the exact route map. O.K. Give a title ‘Rout e map’. Now how you add the descriptive text.

And can you see on the map, Its giving you all the information, your picture, the miles you walked o.k. It gives you all the information here. So can we have that informationpasted?

And you can choose the layout ok? So everybody is on PowerPoint right now? Ok What do we do next? You choose the ‘Title and text’ layout ok. Type in ‘route map’. Sve your file. Instructions for saving the file to student folder.
